We started our journey with Fusion HR by signing up to SAM Absence with a view to managing absence better across the Trust and hopefully to improve staff absence in general. Soon after we agreed to give SAMpeople a go to create a holistic HR system which would work for us as the Trust grows. We needed a programme that was scalable, easy to use, available to staff as a portal, and has an ability to be used by line managers to manage their staff. SAMpeople has done just that. We have been able to make suggestions to the developers of the programme to make things work better for MATs. And their response has been fantastic. We have just this week launched the MySAM facility to all staff so they can interact with their HR records/request time off/manage leave/communicate with their manager etc. We have also been part of the pilot for the FACE-Ed recruitment software. This has revolutionised the way we now undertake recruitment and has been fantastic to date. It has enabled a much more robust level of safer recruitment that is standardised across schools in the Trust, candidates have commented on the ease of use of the system and they particularly have liked being able to upload documentation, message directly the recruitment manager, and keep a track of their application status. There are still some things in development and we look forward to the roll out of those.

I would highly recommend the system to schools but particularly to growing MATs looking for a solution to managing HR across the business in a scalable and holistic way.

Before SAM it took hours to generate reports. Now I can issue a cost of absence report by type of employee for the Governors in seconds. They love the fact that they can see which areas need addressing and drill down to which staff have caused the absences.
