Through popular demand, from the HR Professionals in Education (Facebook Group), we’ve arranged a webinar for school-based professionals that will cover the basics around employment terms and conditions and calculating pay. The session will only cover National pay and conditions and statutory entitlements based on UK employment legislation only (as local arrangements cannot be covered).  If you are working in a school-based setting and are responsible for any of the areas covered below, you are welcome to join the session for free.

This session will include:

  • Contracts of employment, including Section 1 compliance
  • Statutory minimum wage / living wage – what does this mean for your school?
  • Applying the National Living Wage/Real Living Wage to lower scale points – how to calculate this.
  • The local government modification order – what are the implications to consider for both teachers and officers?
  • National Terms and conditions for school-based staff (Teachers and Support Staff)
  • Understanding the Pay Awards and when these legally have to be issued
  • Recap of 1265 and issuing Directed Time Statements
  • Teacher Pay Statements
  • Basic salary calculations including calculating TTO and TTO+ salaries
  • Understanding Zero Hours (Casual) staff holiday pay
  • Basic overview of reporting responsibilities (Gender Pay and Ethnic Pay Gaps)
